CANADA WINS 8-2 OVER GERMANY; NEXT STOP RUSSIA

Yesterday in Vancouver, It was a due or die game for Canada and Germany. And it was a one sided game as Canada controlled possession and won the game 8-2 and there next game will be tonight against Russia. "If anything, it's just nice to get rewarded for playing well," said Crosby, afterwards. "I thought the last game especially, we generated a ton of chances and it didn't go in for us. So to get results and put pucks in the net and bury those chances, it's great.Every line was generating a lot. They play a real defensive game. They're passive. It's not real easy to get through the neutral zone. We were patient throughout the whole game - and stuck with things, so ... "We said coming in, it wasn't a game we expected to play, but coming out of it, I think it was a good thing for us. We got some good results."

Towards the end of the game the fans were chanting "we want Russia." That's what they want and that's what they'll get.If Canada wants to win Gold this year they will have to win 3 in a row starting with Russia in the quarters."I don't think anybody comes in here just happy to make the quarter-final," said Crosby. "We've got a big game tomorrow and we know it's going to be a challenge. This is a big rivalry and everyone knows it. It's something everyone's been talking about before the Olympics. The fact that it's them in the quarter-finals just adds more to it. I expect it to be a pretty incredible atmosphere." The game between Russia and Canada will be tonight at 4:30 P.C and 7:30 E.T.
